Bear and I went on a hike that turned out to be a much longer and herder scramble than we anticipated.  As we thrashed through the brush hoping to find a trail that would take us home, we came to a wide and well-maintained trail with steps cut into the steep hillside.  We followed it downward.  At the edge of a cliff, the trail had railings!   The trail ended at a rock with petroglyphs above a high cliff.  Bear was amazed.  He had never heard of this rock.  We don’t know how old or authentic the carvings are, but the quality of the trail indicates this is an important spot.
